    Rose Blanche Lighthouse

    Restored to its natural beauty of 1873, the Rose Blanche Lighthouse eloquently captures the romance and beauty of the sea. Complete with period furnishings, guided tours go back a century ago to a special time and place in Newfoundland’s history.

    Hant's Harbour Lighthouse
    Located off Route 80 on the east side of Trinity Bay, this lighthouse can be reached from a walking trail which connects to the town. A picnic area is adjacent to the lighthouse. The tower is closed to the public.

    Cow Head Lighthouse

    This lighthouse was built in 1905 and was constructed out of cast iron. The light was originally powered by kerosene and so had to be constantly attended by a lighthouse keeper. In 1931 propane replace the kerosene and the lighthouse remained in operation until 1979.

    Northwest Head Lighthouse
    Built in 1902, this lighthouse is located off the southwest coast. The site is open for viewing but the tower is closed to the public. Spot the red and white stripes as you drive or hike from the town of Ramea.

    Lobster Cove Lighthouse
    Situated in Gros Morne national park, follow the light down the marked road to what is now an interpretive centre. The lighthouse was built in 1892 and automated in 1970. Located between Rocky Harbour and Lobster Cove.

    Long Point Lighthouse
    This lighthouse provides a great vantage point for whale watching and icebergs. It has a superb view of the ocean and the surrounding islands. The lighthouse was built in 1876.

    Bell Island Lighthouse
    Located on Light House road, this site is open year-round. The lighthouse stands 290 ft above sea level and is an excellent spot to bird and whale watch.

    Green Island Lighthouse
    This red trimmed lighthouse was built in 1857 and is one of the last staffed lighthouses in Newfoundland. Located at the southern entrance to the Catalina Harbour.

    Ferryland Lighthouse
    Open from May 19 to October 15, this lighthouse was built in 1870 and recently restored. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy some whale watching.

    Woody Point Lighthouse

    Drive up to this lighthouse, overlooking Bonne Bay, which was erected in 1959. This wooden structure can be viewed from many spots in the city.

    Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site
    Restored to the 1870 priod guides in period costume will show you the world of Jeremiah White, who tended the light 100 years ago. This lighthouse began operating in 1843.

    Conche Lighthouse
    Built in 1914, this wooden pyramidal lighthouse is located in within walking distance of the town. The lighthouse was deactivated in 1992.

    Rocky Point Lighthouse

    Situated on the south side of the harbour, a trail leads up to this lighthouse overlooking the Harbour Breton Bay fjord. The second lighthouse was built in 1881 after the first one was destroyed by fire. The grounds are open to the public.

    Point Amour Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site
    This former lighthouse keeper's home is now an interpetive centre that displays a history of the Straits and the lighthouse that is on the same property. The lighthouse, first used in 1858, is the second tallest in the country
